Centipede is a medium textured, warmseason turfgrass that is ideally grown in USDA hardiness zones 7-10. We recommend 12" spacing when planting our plugs, but of course you can plant them as close or as far apart as you want. The closer you plant plugs, the shorter the time that it takes for them to fill in.
Why plugs? Sod is very expensive and extremely labor intensive, while seed is very tedious and can take up to two years to establish and mature. Our plugs are simply put, probably the easiest plugs on the market to install because they're the same size and shape of the ProPlugger tool. Do you want to plant square plugs in round holes? We don't want you to, either. Don't even bother trying to use those square plugging tools!

Centipede:
- Lower nutritional requirements than Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass
- Full sun to partial shade
- Mow height 2-3"
- Extremely heat tolerant and very good drought tolerance
- Ideal for low pH or sandy soils
- 2" diameter and 2" deep plugs that fit the ProPlugger planting tool
- Each unit of order is 38 plugs which is one of our grow trays
- State restrictions, cannot ship to AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, KS, OR, NM, NV and WA
- Recommended fertilizers are 7-0-20 Stress Blend, GreeneKick and GreenCharge. (Not recommended is GreenePop and Starter 12-12-12 unless you are deficient in Phosphorus)

Excellent product.
I have been wanting to infill some spots in my centipede lawn for the past year….the spots were not big enough to re-sod, plus re-sodding is such a pain!
I was able to put my 2” bulb planter auger in my battery drill and quickly over-drill holes for the plugs….I mixed a little fertilizer with some potting soil, put a little in each hole, dropped the plug in, raked the loose soil around the plug with my fingers, watered generously, stepped on the plug to completely seat it, and moved on! Planted 114 plugs in about 90 minutes, start to finish! ALL of them are looking great with regular irrigation!
I was very impressed with the plugs and definitely had a root ball growing so much so they were a little hard to remove from holders. After a few weeks they are filling in well in the area.
